Introduction |
It has been largely observed that surging number of people prefer to shop online rather than the conventional offline purchases. There are some valid reasons for such an attitude; nevertheless, such a pattern of shopping has its own demerits. Both, the causes of online shopping as well as the downsides of it are discussed further. |
Body 1 |
Examining the root-causes, the most common is that virtual shopping is a huge blessing for the urban dwellers. This is to state that people in cities follow a busy schedule and they hardly have time and energy to drive to the shopping areas, park, walk around to choose and also look for options. Online shopping saves the entire bother of offline purchases. To add to this, the flexitime shopping hours is one of the biggest attraction. Customer can shop from anywhere, at any time and of any price. Online buying is appealing as the shoppers get the best deals, discounts reward coupons, festival offers, end-of-the season sales and 0% interest loan installments, which are not much viable offline. |
Body 2 |
However, such a swing has some downsides too. The biggest detriment is that the shoppers miss out the real shopping experience. There is no second thought on the feeling of happiness holding the shopping bags after touching and trying the products, satisfying bargains, haggling for discounts and also doing some worth window shopping. Conversely, virtual shopping is mostly lonely and devoid of the feeling of content. It is also noticed that online market adversely affects the local businesses and the small industries that survive on local people buying offline. In fact, the trend has sabotaged the regional economy; thus a passive blow overall. |
Conclusion |
To sum up, it must be accepted that in the modern world online shopping is indeed taking a precedence. This kind of buying can be frequent or episodic; however, offline shopping is not only a happier and a memorable experience but also fruitful for the indigenous market economy. |
