Some people think that the government should strictly control the supply of fresh water, as it is a limited source, while others it should not be regulated.
Discuss both sides and give your opinion.
Introduction
When distribution of fresh water is debated, there are divided views. Some suggest that the authorities must be stringently in charge of fresh water supply; whereas, a few others state that it should not be controlled. Prior to my decision, both the sides will be discussed.
Body 1
Discussing the former view the supporters emphasize that most importantly, the officials invest immense amount of funds to distribute and store fresh water. This is certainly a financial burden to the state or central treasury. The governments build tanks, artificial reservoirs and install pipeline networks. So, there is no scope for people to waste this precious natural resource. The government for bidding lavish supply of fresh water is justified. Moreover, potable water urgently needs conservation. As per the statistics, there is only 25% fresh water on earth against the 97.5% salt water. The water resource for human use is undoubtedly minimal and the governments of the countries must save water in a draconian way. Such an awareness can help to protect the world from impending water crisis.
Body 2
On the contrary, those who bolster the latter opinion have their own claims. To begin with, water is a survival need for all. Fresh water is not only used for drinking, cooking and other domestic requirements; but also for human body to function properly. Therefore, to strictly control the supply would seen unethical. Besides this, fresh water would definitely a renewable resource. It must be accepted that through rains and in some places with the monsoon season, the natural water reservoirs are replenished at regular intervals. This means that stringent laws to curb water supply is not acceptable. In case the water distribution is monitored, the poor and average income group will have to pay a significant part of their budget to buy water.
Conclusion
To sum up and offer my position, I confidently support the former viewpoint than the second opinion. Though the water is renewable source and can easily be achieved in monsoon season, I believe that the government should strictly monitor the supply of potable water, which is the most practical solution and it would definitely save the world from water crisis in the future. It cannot be denied that water is the elixir of life.
