| Many people want their country to host an international sporting event. Others believe that international sporting event bring more problems than benefits. Discuss both views and state your opinion. |

| Intoduction |
| There is an on going debate regarding to organize international sporting event. There are divided opinions. A group of individuals have argued that such occurrence as they believe them as advantageous for country; however, other counter claimed that, the price involved in hosting these events is not worthwhile. Prior to my stance, both the statements would be discussed in the ensuing write-up. |

| Discussing the former view, the supporters claim that, the country would earn good revenue in short span of time. Due to sporting events, local business and tourism enhances. This generates a good capital, which can be used later to fund several public works. All this can benefit a country in the long turn. Besides revenue, such events brung prestige and honour to the host country. An apt illustration of this is Brazil. The country has shot up to fame after the 2016 Olympics, which has resulted in increased tourism and 15% GDP growth. Such events also strengthen political relations amongst nations and encourage sport and sporting events all over the world. |

| However, the proponents of the latter opinion have their own explanations. The strongest protest they have is of finance. Typically, it can cost several million pounds to build the stadiums, Olympic villages and other related faculties; which later would stand empty. To add to this, there is a fear that these events could catalyze in increase in episodes of crime and other illegal movements. The thought-group also believe that holding international sporting event can disturb the regular trade and commence in a country which inturn can disturb the economy overall. |
| Conclusion |
| To sum up and offer my viewpoint, I firmly bolster the former statement than the latter suggestion. It is indeed a matter of honour, prestige and progress for a nation in case it organizes an international sporting event. This can bring long-term sa well as short-term rewards. Although, the authorities of the host nations should be ready to fight the challenges that come on their way. |
